Greenbrier Birthing Center MINT Program has ZERO TOLERANCE against sexual abuse and sexual harassment.  Greenbrier Birthing Center MINT Program is committed to respecting and protecting the rights of all offenders and infants housed at the facility.  The offender has the right against being pressured by anyone to engage in sexual acts and does not have to tolerate sexually abusive behavior or pressure to engage in unwanted sexual behavior from another offender, staff member, volunteer or contract employee.  Regardless of the offender’s age, size, race, ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation, the offender has the right to be safe from sexual abusive behavior.

Offenders are encouraged to immediately report any allegations of sexually abusive behavior to a staff member.  All allegations, including third-party will be held confidential and will be thoroughly investigated.  Third-party allegations on behalf of the offender can be initiated by contacting the facility’s PREA Coordinator or Director, or by writing to one of the following addresses, depending on the type of allegation:

Greenbrier Birthing Center MINT Program will take appropriate steps to ensure that offender’s with disabilities have an equal opportunity to participate in or benefit from all aspects of the facilities efforts to prevent, detect, and respond to sexual abuse and sexual harassment.  Such steps will include, when necessary to ensure effective communication with offender’s who are deaf, or hard of hearing, providing access to interpreters who can interpret effectively, accurately, and impartially.  Written materials are provided in formats or through methods that ensure that effective communication for offender’s with disabilities, including offenders who have intellectual disabilities, or limited reading skills.  Greenbrier Birthing Center MINT Program reaches out to local community assistance offices, as a resource to ensure the facility is providing effective communication accommodations when a need for such an accommodation is known.  Staff will take reasonable action to ensure that available methods of communication are provided to all offenders with disabilities for complete access to its efforts of preventing, detecting, and responding to sexual abuse and sexual harassment.
